Edsons Ridge: Watchtower
Protect communication routes between the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand by holding position in the Solomons.
In Edsons Ridge, you are tasked with protecting your base in the top right portion of the map from a single path of ground units that approach from the bottom left, making an almost 90-degree curve in the center of the map for 20 waves. There will be two main approaches for sneak-attacking units: the path from the top left that goes towards the center of the map and the path around the lake, along with the lake itself when a single naval unit eventually shows up.
This guide will cover how to get a Full House, which is a perfect round with all medals and 20 victory points, on the Edsons Ridge level of the iBomber Defense Pacific campaign, played on Veteran difficulty. In addition, this mission guide will cover the secondary objective and hidden target along with a walkthrough video.
Secondary Objective
Communication in the area is poor. Build Comms. towers to help the war effort.
Edsons Ridge introduces the Comms Tower in the campaign, which will boost the effectiveness of turrets under its range (excluding bombs) along with helping you accrue interest from funds saved up at the end of every wave. To satisfy your secondary objective, you will need to place 5 of these towers around the map and have them survive till the end of the level.
Supply Crates: 5
Victory Points So Far: 120
- Machine Gun lvl 3
X2 Power vs Flamed Specialization - Cannon lvl 3
- Bomb lvl 2
- Flamer lvl 2
Perks used for this mission:
- Greenback I
- Eagle Eye I
- Special Delivery
Special Delivery should now be unlocked, allowing you to increase the value of supply crates that you break open from 20 to 30 credits, a significant help towards accruing the funds needed for all 5 comms towers. Faster aiming helps your turrets be slightly quicker on the draw, which you will need with so much of your funds going to the non-offensive comms towers.
Hidden Target
The hidden target is a bit hard to see, but if you look at the 2 o’clock position of the small body of water on the map, you will see a bit of beach and then a single small hut partially covered by trees at the forest’s line. This small hut is your hidden target.
Turret Placement
Turret placing in Edsons Ridge should begin with setting up a pair of Machine Guns and a Comms on the small rock plateau in the center of the map by the bend, as this is the best firing spot on the map. It’s best to start placing Comms early on, since their boost and interest will help in the long run. Use these turrets to break open the crates blocking the final two spots on the high ground between waves to eventually place a pair of cannons there as well.
The other two important placement strategies here are working on a pair of bomb turrets to handle crates and secret attacks and a base forward of the plateau group consisting of a Machine Gun and flamer to slow the advancing waves. Eventually you will need bombs for the final wave as you start to drop most of your money on Comms, since it will take funds away from needed damage-causing turrets.
